Israeli forces invade Al-Aqsa Mosque, shoot 21 Palestinian worshippers
For the fifth day in a row, Israeli occupation forces raided Thursday morning Al-Aqsa Mosque, one of Islam’s holiest sites located in occupied East Jerusalem, in order to ensure the provocative sight of Israeli fanatic groups at the holy compound, according to local sources.
It reported that Israeli troops used force and firepower to evict the grounds of the mosque compound from the Palestinian worshippers rendering several injuries from beating and suffocation from teargas fired by the police.
Palestinian Muslim men and women worshippers were compelled to go inside the constructions of the compound and to stay there until the Israeli groups finish their tours a few hours later.
Medical sources reported that an elderly man was shot with a rubber-coated steel bullet, and dozens of Palestinians suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation.
Three of the wounded Palestinians suffered life-threatening injuries after the soldiers shot them with a rubber-coated steel bullet in the head and back.
The sources added that the soldiers also assaulted many Palestinian journalists and forced them to leave the courtyards of the holy site before permitting dozens of colonizers in several groups to invade the courtyard of the holy site.
The soldiers also attacked numerous medics, causing injuries, and deterred them from providing the needed medical treatment for wounded Palestinians before forcing them to evict the courtyards of the holy site and abducting at least three young men.
Large numbers of Israeli were allowed by the IOF to storm the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound during the Jewish Passover holiday, which ends on Saturday, causing severe conflict with the Palestinian worshippers that often got violent.
Israeli occupation said that Israelis will not be permitted to go inside the Muslim holy compound as of Friday and until the end of the holy Muslim fasting month of Ramadan, which ends at the end of this month, to evade any further violence in the occupied city of Jerusalem.
