Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II dies at age of 96
Buckingham Palace announced the death of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II, at the age of 96.
It was decided to raise flags at half-mast at Buckingham Palace after the death of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II.
Prince Charles will succeed Elizabeth II as King of Britain.
The royal family’s account on Twitter said: “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral Castle this afternoon. The King and Queen will remain in Balmoral tonight and then return to London tomorrow.”
The Queen ruled Britain for nearly 70 years and is the longest-reigning monarch in the country’s history.
During her reign, Queen Elizabeth lived 16 British prime ministers, the first of whom was former Prime Minister Winston Churchill, and she is the sixth woman to sit on the throne of the British crown.
Social media has been buzzing during the current hours, following the circulation of news platforms and pages of the death of Queen Elizabeth, hours after announcing a serious deterioration in her health.
It is expected that all facilities of life in Britain will be disrupted to mourn her death until a new king is appointed
