74 Palestinians killed in criminal acts in Arab towns
Police remain indifferent to these crimes as the number of Palestinians murdered so far this year in these villages has reached 74 despite calls on the police to take seriously the rise in crime and murder in the Arab villages in Israel and apprehend the perpetrators, with the killing last night of a young man in his 20s from the Galilee town of al-Mazraa of gun injuries sustained earlier.
Another 22-year-old youth was critically wounded in a shooting incident near the town of Baqa al-Gharbieh.
Five people were murdered in criminal shooting killing since the beginning of the week, including the journalist Nidal Ighbariyeh, 44, in Umm al-Fahm, and a 34-year-old woman and her 14-year-old daughter in Lydda in central Israel.
Palestinians in Israel, who make up at least 20 percent of the population, accuse the state of discriminating against them by not giving enough protection and attention to the rise in killing and crime in their communities.
Israeli news earlier admitted that most of the criminals included in the attack work as police informants and therefore are not apprehended.
