Jordanian Endowments do not accept Israeli decisions on Al-Aqsa Mosque
The Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Places on Tuesday said in a press statement that the responsibility and authority to appoint guards and employees in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque belongs to the ministry in coordination with the Islamic Endowments Department in Al-Quds Al-Sharif.
It added that it does not accept participation or dictation from any party, including the Israeli occupation government.
The Ministry reported that it has appointed more than 70 guards since 2016, but the Israeli arbitrary and arrogant measures and restrictions placed by the occupation police on the ground constitute an obstacle to guards and employees from joining their work.
It clarified that it through the Department of Islamic Endowments in Jerusalem kept its efforts and procedures despite all obstacles.
Besides, it is consistent in its position that it is the only body charged with implementing the Hashemite guardianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites and endowments as well as respecting the historical and legal status quo, and that the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque is a pure right of Muslims that no one shares with them.
