List of 10 most expensive players in the world
The International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) on Tuesday presented a list of the world’s best footballers, and during the recent summer transfer.
Paris Saint-Germain’s Ligue 1 striker Kylian Mbappe topped the list of the world’s most expensive players with an estimated €205.6 million.
Mbappe, 23, preferred to stay in Paris over a move to Real Madrid, and made an amazing season with Paris Saint-Germain, scoring 39 goals and making 26 more over 46 appearances in all tournaments.
The Brazilian, Vinicius Jr., who scored Real Madrid’s “golden” winner over Liverpool in the Champions League, was ranked second, worth 158.3 million euros.
Norwegian star Erling Haaland, who moved from the German side of Borussia Dortmund to Premier League champions Manchester City, was only ranked third with an evaluated value of Euro130.4 million.
The report stated the statistical model for evaluating player transfer deals in the five major European leagues was based on a sample of 1,790 transfers between July 2012 and January 2020.
