Israel prepares for ‘overwhelming war’ in Lebanon
Israeli Army Chief Aviv Kochavi on Monday has warned that overwhelming force would be used in Lebanon in the next possible war with Hizbullah.
“The attack force will be unimaginable, like nothing you have witnessed before,” he said, advising local Lebanese residents to leave “from the beginning of tensions and before the first shot is fired.”
He said that Israel would hit rocket launchers inside houses and buildings.
“The Army has pinpointed thousands of targets in Lebanon in the event of a war, including Hizbullah headquarters, as well as rocket-propelled grenades and rocket launchers,” Kochavi reported.
Hizbullah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah on Thursday had threatened to strike a gas rig Israel is placing in the Mediterranean Sea in a disputed maritime area.
