Did referee Gassama killed by Algerian fans??
The Gambian Football Association denied the reports that a Gambian referee, Bakary Gassama, was killed while judging a World Cup qualification match between Algeria and Cameroon in Qatar.
There was news that the Gambian referee was slain in Paris, France, just days after he oversaw the second leg of the African qualifiers for the World Cup “Qatar 2022,” in which the Cameroonian team qualified with a fatal goal in the 124th minute.
The Algerian fans were outraged by Gassama’s decisions in that match, as he canceled two goals for the Algerian national team after referring to VIDEO ASSISTANT REFEREES (VAR).
The Algerian Football Association announced last Thursday that it had filed an appeal against the Gambian referee with the International Federation of the Game “FIFA,” adding, “the Algerian Federation is determined to activate all legally permissible means to restore its rights and return the match under conditions that include the integrity and impartiality of arbitration.”
