Zelensky to meet EU’s von der Leyen on Friday: Nykyforov
Zelensky, Ukrainian President will meet with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Kyiv on Friday, according to Ukrainian presidential spokesman Sergii Nykyforov.
Other details of the talks, he said, would not be revealed for security reasons. Josep Borrell, the EU’s top diplomat, will also visit Kyiv this week, according to a European Union spokeswoman.
Her spokesman, Eric Mamer, announced Tuesday that she will finish her tour before a key pledge summit in Warsaw this weekend. It will be the EU’s second high-level visit.
Roberta Metsola, the President of the European Parliament, visited Ukraine last week.
The trip will take place ahead of Saturday’s Stand Up For Ukraine pledging event in Warsaw for refugees and internally displaced persons. Von der Leyen and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau organized the donor conference.
