“Twitter” overcomes Elon Musk
Twitter recorded its first win over Elon Musk by winning the first round of the court dispute with the US billionaire, on the back of announcing the revocation of the site’s purchase deal, which amounted to $44 billion.
A Delaware court judge said there was a “cloud of uncertainty” over the Twitter deal while taking the website’s statement that the delay would hurt its business.
The Court summoned the next hearing to be held next October.
The President of the Tribunal, Kathalyn McCormick, said, “Delays threaten irreparable harm and the longer the delay, the higher the risk.”
She asserted the court was capable of handling court cases expeditiously.
According to the Guardian on Wednesday night, this development was good news for Twitter, which asked for speedy handling of the lawsuit.
Twitter, which sued Musk to force him to complete the purchase transaction, is aiming.
A lawyer representing Twitter in the trial charged Musk with “attempting to undermine “the site, stressing that he was “doing his best to disrupt his work.”
While it could end up committing Musk to the deal’s negation fee, which could amount to over $1 billion.
In early July, Musk, the executive director of Tesla and SpaceX, declared the cancellation of the mega-deal, given what he said was Twitter’s loss to reveal the true size of its fake accounts.
