Ten prisoners continue an open-ended hunger strike, including eight in rejection of their administrative detention and against the policy of abuse practiced by the occupation prison administration against them
The striking prisoners are: Sultan Khalouf and Kayed Al-Fasfos, who have been on hunger strike for 24 days, addition to the detainee Osama Daqrouq, who has been on strike for 20 days, Muhammad Tayseer Zakarneh, Anas Ahmed Kamil, Abdul Rahman Iyad Baraqa, and Zuhdi Talal Abido have been on strike for 17 days, and Seif al-Din Diab al-Amarin (22 years old) for seven days, all of whom have been on strike in rejection of their administrative detention
The Prisoners’ Club explained in a telephone conversation with “Wafa”, that the prisoner Hatem Qawasmeh (42 years old) from Hebron, continues his hunger strike for the 14th consecutive day, to demand his transfer with his brother, the prisoner Hazem Qawasmeh, who is in (Raymond) prison, knowing that Hatem has been detained since 2003, and is sentenced to life imprisonment, and his brother Hazem sentenced for 25 years, and he has been detained since 2002
He pointed out that the prisoner Maher al-Akhras, 52, from Jenin, continues his hunger strike since the moment of his arrest, last Tuesday, in refusal to arrest him
He pointed out that the occupation prisons administration has escalated its measures against the striking prisoners, and used all abusive tools, most notably isolation and transportation
The prisoners’ strike coincides with the struggle steps initiated by the administrative prisoners in Ofer prison and several other prisons, and the continuation of about 60 detainees in their boycott of the military courts of the occupation
It is noteworthy that the number of administrative detainees reached more than 1,200, and this percentage is the highest in the years of the Al-Aqsa Intifada
