IOF storms Al-Jazeera journalist’s mourning house in Jerusalem, removes flags
Israeli occupation forces on Thursday broke into the grieving house for Al-Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, who was murdered by Israeli gunfire in Jenin yesterday, in an attempt to remove Palestinian flags according to local sources.
Al-Liqa church in Jerusalem’s Beit Hanina district hosts the grieving home.
The Abu Akleh funeral procession was earlier halted by police as it made its way to St. Joseph’s hospital in East Jerusalem’s Sheikh Jarrah area, where the Abu Akleh body will be housed until the funeral tomorrow afternoon.
Forces also broke into the Abu Akleh residence in Beit Hanina yesterday to remove Palestinian flags, but were met by hundreds of people who had arrived to show their support for the family.
