Birth of rarest tiger in the world
A cub of rare Bengali tigers was born at the National Zoo in the Cuban capital of Havana on Friday.
The tiger’s birth came just over a year after the park received 4 cubs of this breed, including a very rare white tiger.
The birth of the five cubs comes after attempts spanning 20 years to help the endangered breed breed breed.
The five cubs were born to the same parents, Fiona and Garfield.
Unfortunately, the new cub was the only survivor of four cubs born two weeks ago after the other cubs suffered severe nervous system problems that led to their death.
The newcomer, who has not yet been named, is underweight, but he has seemed feisty and has a playful spirit.
