Staring at your phone screen causes aging
A recent scientific study warned of the danger that excessive staring at a mobile phone screen may cause.
The study, conducted by scientists at Oregon State University in the United States, revealed that staring at mobile phones for a long time may cause wrinkles, according to the “Al-Qabas” news site, quoting the newspaper “Daily Mail”.
The researchers explained that the blue light emitted by devices may accelerate aging, especially since almost every adult in the world is exposed to blue light from phones, work computers and televisions daily .
The scientists found that placing the flies under bright light for 14 days showed signs of impaired cell function, neurodegeneration or aging .
Dr Jadwiga Gibolowicz, the biologist who led the study, emphasized that blue light may have a harmful effect on a wide range of cells in our bodies.
“Our study suggests that avoiding excessive exposure to blue light may be a good anti-aging strategy,” Giboltovic said.
She added that many devices already have built-in mechanisms that allow users to reduce the blue light they emit .
