Six Palestinian prisoners are fleeing Gilboa prison in northern Israel Monday morning after excavating a tunnel, the majority of whom are serving life sentences for fighting the Israeli occupation according to sources.
Sources said that the inmates spent months, if not years, excavating the tunnel that led to their nighttime escape. Their escape was not discovered until hours later when the Israeli occupation launched a massive search for the detainees. According to Israeli reports, six Palestinian prisoners, the majority of whom are serving life sentences for fighting the Israeli occupation, got out of Gilboa prison in northern Israel this morning after excavating a tunnel.
The following are the names of the detainees:
Mahmoud Abdallah Arda, 46, was captured in 1996 in Arraba, near Jenin, and is currently receiving a life sentence.
Mohammad Qassem Arda, a 39-year-old Arraba resident who was arrested in 2002 and is currently receiving a life sentence.
Yacoub Mahmoud Qaderi, 49, from Beir al-Basha near Jenin, was sentenced to life in prison in 2003.
Nayef Kamamji, 35, of Kufr Dan, near Jenin, was sentenced to life in prison in 2006.
